Just bought Compaq Presario R4000 and the volume is not very loud when playing a lot of music. Do I need to buy speakers and if so any recommendations?

It depends on music media files quality. I doubt that your speakers are problem. Also check your sound card master volume settings.

What do you mean by quality? How do you check s/card volume - through control panel? Cheers
