I am looking for a program that can record any audio that is being output from my computer to my sound card. fr example, when i am watchin a movie on my pc and at the credits there is this song that i like, i could run that program and record the song. our if im am watchin a onhe of my windows media player videos or quicktime videos, i cn record the sound it is outputing. and also i would like the program to record it just as it is, in a cd type quailty sound, not so when i play it back it sounds like a crappy radio. Thanks.

any video editing program like premiere pro will let you extract the audio from a video file, so why not just do that.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

I just tried MP3 My MP3, Records to mp3 or wave. Has diffrent quality settings for mp3, best of all it's free. Worked great for me.
