Hello all.

I have had a strong interest in home theater and recently had an opportunity to view a projector from the privacy of my home; (I borrowed the one from work. The projector I used was a BenQPB6110.

At first I was significantly impressed by the picture that was created - it was at least 200 cm diagonal. But after about 45 minutes of play on Xbox Live, I noticed a light band of light that appeared to "roll" upward through the image. Once I noticed this, the "rolling" appeared every two seconds. I'm not sure if this was the image refreshing, but I found it very annoying. Does this occur with all DLP projectors or just this model?

The comparison question is because I have looked at the Infocus X3 and Infocus Screenplay 4805 and the BenQ in a side by side comparison chart. The Screenplay appears far superior spec wise than the other two. But where I have my projector, there is some ambient lighting. Will this projector's image be strong enough to outshine the ambient lighting during daytime hours, or should I go with the weaker projector with higher lumens?

The band you are seeing is electrical "noise". Try plugging the unit into another outlet. If you are going to use a projector during dalite hrs. and you can't control the lighting, go for as many lumens as you can get. But I recomend tackling the light issue because a picture that is to bright will be hard to watch for long periods at night.

Thanks, a-v for the info. The electrical noise was something I had not thought of. I'll check it out tonight...

Does anyone have any favorite systems right now? The Infocus 4805 has gotten some great reviews but the 750 lumens is a little depressing.
