Sony DVD-R Write x0.1 ?

I just bought a brand new philips DVD re-writer i used dvd deycrypter to copy Lord of the rings Iso>read, Iso>write (select the .iso image) then i insert a blank sony dvd-r i set it to copy at 4x then click go it starts of at o.1 and stays there and shorley it can't be exspected to wait 17 hours for a backup! I did use a dvd-rw and that worked but does any one know why these sony ones aren't working? i Also used nero with no sucsess Any help will be appreciated
