Because that is illegal. You can backup your owned games without worrying about anything. Theyre yours legally.

A patch is like a fix you apply to the ISO of the game. And the game will boot with Swap Magic.

You can get them from http://www.ps2nfo.com, you will have to register with the e-mail that came with your internet. Dont use the freebie ones like hotmail,yahoo, etc.

Palverez It is not illeagle 2 make copies from ANY source. U have 2 already own the original.(or say u do if yr in 1 of these forums) Get It? So copying games from Blockbuster, Video Ezy or who ever is cool, so long as the game yr copying, U allready own. This is how u get around selling them as well. So long as the person buying the copy owns an original copy of the game U can sell/give them a copy. It is all in the wording, & of corse how honest u r. Personally I dont even like playing PS2 that much, but I love copying them.
The only other problem Ive had with HIRE games is the anti theft protection device they stick onto the disc (the 1 that stops u stealing the DVD from the store,most rentals have it). A thin piece of metal they stick 2 the disc. This piece of metal if not positioned VERY, VERY carefully when they put it on, will quite often make the DVD/CD wobble in yr dirve making it hard if not impossible to copy. Sometimes a piece (or 2)of sticky tape opposite the anti theft device will fix the problem.

basicaly what people are sayign is dotn come on here and say yea i rented this game from blockbuster and i cant copy it...come on and say ur having trouble backin gup a game and u will get the help u need...i highly doubt people on here actually back up their own games and have backups of games they dont own...i mean its always tempting to do it but u gotta resist or u never knwo if u gonna get caught...blockbuster migth be suspicious if u rent a game and brin git back teh next day and rent another and keep doing that

Wheres here? I live in OZ. What u say is true, u r only allowed by law 2 copy a game that U own the original of. Where I think u may have missinterpreted the law is that, "if u own an original of the game" u can sorce the copy from where ever u like. Say i want a backup of my precious game (2 keep it in good condition), I am not able to afford a burner & dont know anyone who has 1. In this situation I own the original & want 2 sorce a copy from some place else. Check & u will find this IS legal. Its a discrimination thing.
