Just a couple of quick questions. If anyone can answer them it would be muchly appreciated.

1. I live in Australia and the PSP has not been released here yet. Does anyone know what the firmware version will be for this release.
2. With that in mind would i be better off buying one from overseas so i can use homebrew since not much work is being done on the other firmware versions.
3. And just to clear things up i can only upgrade the firmware and not downgrade it yet can I?

Sorry if these questions seem basic but i would rather clear it up before i hand over 400 bucks.

3.there are downgrades available(now for the 1.51 and 1.52)as well

Dont worry ajmmck, hope is on the way, it is said they have made the firm wire downgradable, and upgradable, however this hack hasnt made public yet, it will def come soon to be close to christmas time, so by the time PSP's are available in aussie, you can down your firmwire, so i would just wait. I will post the link to the info i got.

Why wait till then? Buy one now since sony will take extra measures and give you something like a PSP with a firmware of 2.0! It'll also prob be cheaper if you buy one from here.

I dont think it would be cheaper with all of the exporting bills, and i dont think the charger works for other countries. But i dont know any of this stuff to well.

Thats what i was thinking. I read the article about Sony making it mandatory to update the frimware for games so this would not happen, but i dont want them to bring out a firmware of like 2 and then have to wait for a year before i can use anything on it or even downgrade it for that matter.Is it still possible to buy psp's overseas with frimawre 1.5 or have they all been updated to 1.51/.52?

I don't think eBay has importing fees. Just signup and buy it cheap with 1.5 firmware from there. I see them at "BUY IT NOW" for $200.
