I started off with one AVI file and used Virtualdub to strip the audio to PCM (48000) and then I used TMPGEnc to encode my AVI file to a m2v file. My settings for TMPGEnc were aspect ratio of 16:9, FPS (23.976), CQ_VBR (55 and max bitrate 7000, min 0), pulldown 3:2 was selected also. Set the resolution to 720x480 so it produced a m2v file which was DVD compliant.
I then used DVDit PE 2.5 to make a menu with some screenshots of the movie as the back ground. I added two buttons one to play the movie and then one for Chapters. Did all the authoring with this and linked everything up. I tested it with DVDit and also WinDVD and it played fine. I imported the m2v file and the wav file and everything worked perfect (so i thought).
I then compiled a DVD Folder so I could have the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. I then tested the VOB files with WinDVD again and everything played fine, so I continued by making an image with ImgTools. Used DVD Decrypter to burn the image onto a DVD-RW (which i always do to test my DVDs), but this one will not work in my standalone DVD player. Obviously it works in my computer DVD player but that doesn't help.
I am using a P4 1.7 ghz machine with 512 RAM. I have a Sony DRU-500a burner and a Panasonic RV-32 standalone player. This Panasonic player has played everything I have thrown at it in the past. Now with using DVDit to make a menu, the DVD will not play. Also I use Ritek 2x DVD-Rs with a purple bottom. They have worked in the past.
Does anyone see what I may have done wrong? Or just any advice like maybe not to use DVDit and use .... instead. Thanks in advance.
Greg
