I just backed up my Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 game last night. My question is.....How come it loads slower than original. It takes it awhile to go from menu to menu and to load game play. I used Memorex R- Media. I burned at 2X. Is there anythning I can do to make the game run faster? I have also noticed this on other games I have backed up. Should I try burning faster? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've seen that a few people on this forum seem to have better luck burning at 4X instead of 2X. I personally have better luck with 2X, but it all depends on your system. You may also want to try different media like Verbatim. I seem to have the least amount of problems with Verbatim and Sony disks.

Thanks for your reply. By burning at higher speed...will that speed up the loading process? Also...what type do you use? r+ r-? I will try burning at 4x when I get home.

Burning at a higher speed might sort things out better on the disk for you than a slower speed. If the PS2 is able to read it easier because of a faster burn, then yes, your load times will increase.

I personally use Sony DVD+R media. That's not the first choice for many here, but I have incredibly good luck with those disks with my v7 PS2 and Swap Magic 2.0. Before I found the Sonys, I used Verbatim -R disks.
