hi all

just got this HDD recorder and all good, very happy (so far) but only problem that i have is that when im recording on HDD i can not watch DVD??? it comes up Warrning: incompatible tv system setting! ???
any help?

I was able to watch a recorded dvd while recording to the hard drive. Does your dvd play when you are not recording ?

mirke , are you able to edit out commercials on your Panasonic DMR-E50's hard drive?
I also read that these recorders are not even recommended.

im very happy with it, and u can cut commercials out and edit it before burning... as i said very happy, quality is very, very good, not like phillips that i took back and exchanged for this one... philips didnt even have option to choose if u wanna rec on hdd or disk (only hdd and then u have to edit and burn)
gonna call panasonic and ask them tomorow...
and again very happy with panasonic... easy to use with a lot of "extras" hehe

I think the link below might explain the eh50 behaviour when recording and playing different formats (ntsc and pal)at the same time. Hopefully it is helpful to you.
