I have an hp dvd200e writer and have been trying to fit a dvd-9 onto one dvd-5. I rip the movie using smart ripper, and strip out the audio streams to a separate file, then I get the cell times using ifo edit, and if necessary use rempeg in order to get the movie under 4.37 gigs. After I have the movie under 4.37 gigs, I author a new dvd using ifoedit. After this I use neros newsest release inorder to burn it. Then comes the problem, my newly burned dvd will not play in my set top player. It will play on any computer I put it in just fine, but it will not play on my Samsung M301 dvd player. I know that my set top player will play dvd+rs and dvd+rws because I have already burned dvd-5s and played them. Can anyone tell me why my stripped dvd-9s will not play in my set top player if it is compatible with dvd+rws???
thanks in advance

Do you have the correct sturcure when burning?

VIDEO_TS
AUDIO_TS

with all the data in the VIDEO_TS folder...

You tested it with your PC DVD player before burning...

I do my process the long way by using IFOedit to create an image and then burning with DVDDekrypter...I have had ZERO problems with this process. The only coasters I have made with my 50 DVD spindle is from my own DVD stripping mistakes...

I have both the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and the VIDEO_TS contains all the files that are needed for the dvd to work, I just don't know what the problem is. I will probably try another way, such as the one that you mentioned using ifodeit to create an image. Are there any guides on this site that explain how it that way, or could you possibly go through a short explanation?
Thanks in advance,
TomAce

After you "GET VTS SEctors" in IFOedit..are you testing the movie and playing on your PC dvd player, before you burn?

www.ifoedit.com should have some guides/downlaod on how to create the image using IFOedit.

That's where I got my inof from.

Works like a charm...

I'm sure there are faster ways to do it...that can save a good 5 minutes...but the way I do it seems to be bullet proof for me...so I am sticking with it...

5...even 10 minutes more is not much for me...if it means a good working copy...
