ok I had posted previously that I had finally figured out how to lock the drive properly and successfully boot any game I backup..

now I have a problem that kind of seemed apparent from the start, my ps2 makes funny noises when reading swap magic 3.6 dvd driver disc and loads the disc successfully about 1 out of every 5 times I try it. I get a "Disc Read Error" when it doesn't load and I proceed to eject disc and put it back in until it loads, quite annoying..

anyhow heres what I'm working with
Swap Magic 3.6 w/slidecard tool
PS2 SCPH -390000

I also tried a cleaner and my ps2 plays regular ps2 games and music cds and dvd-r with no problem. also once swap magic actually loads games load no problem it just intermintently loads swap magic 3.6

I tried it on another PS2 SPCH-300000 and it worked fine many times
really weird..

Sounds like your laser is really struggling. Try adjusting the laser voltage. That worked for me on my old PS2. http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/about48148.html&sid=2893e53fc54...

if that doesnt work, u should consider taking it to ebgames or somehtign if u bought it from a store like that and convincin gthem that it dont work to get u a new one...thats why i buy from them

I've actually had the ps2 since like 2003 sooo.. that might be out of the question.. gonna try to take apart and clean lense don't know about voltage adjustment because afterall every ps2 game plays fine and swap magic is the only disc that doesn't work right. I could quite easyily trade ps2 in and get one that doesn't run swap magic at all . mine at least runs it fine provided it boots the software. I called gamespot and they want $119 for a refurbished fat model. ..so riddle me this why would anyone buy an old model for $119 when I can buy the slimline for same price with all the bonuses such as network adapter and the small size ...

absolutely ridiculous .. gamespot are thieves even with their games
