How this relates to DVD backups is beyond me, but basically you'll need to buy a Hub and connect it to the Uplink port on the back of your router. This will essentially give you 4 more active ports to use. You may be able to find a dongle at your local computer shop that splits one ethernet port into two, kind of like the old phone jacks, but hubs are pretty cheap, so I'd go that route.

That's a switch which is a little more than just a dummy hub and a tad more than what you need. You can usually find a passive hub for around $15US. Since that switch isn't much more, it'd work for what you want to do. The WAN link is usually to hook up to a gateway router, or in a home case, like a cable modem or ADSL router. You'd want to hook it up to (probably port 1) on your router and then the uplink port on the hub/switch. Most hubs and switches will clearly say "uplink" above the port. This just basically tells the hub that it's talking to another hub and not a PC. Its actually incredibly easy once you see all the parts together... it should all be very self explanitory.
