Hello forum...once again. I been told in the past by a few of my work mates that there is backup software out there that will make a true copy of PS2 titles if burnt to a dual layer disk..with no need for a mod chip in your console.

Is this a fantasy? Are these people crazy. Or does this software truely exist.

To my knowledge, there is not such a thing. The PS2 pressed (factory) disks are made with intentional bad sectors that the PS2 uses to boot properly. All current DVD writers will automatically fix those bad sectors on the disk, thereby not allowing your PS2 to boot from the disk. Which is why you need a pressed Swap Magic or a modchip.

There MAY be something out there that I've never heard of, but if you're coworkers are so sure of this, ask them the name of the software and post it on here. I'm sure at least one person has either used it or between us all, we can find that software if it exists and let you know.
