Hi everybody!
I've just installed DC++ and when I start it I press the public hubs button. Then i connect to one of the hubs which doesn't require any sharing (just to see the search results, but when i press search it wont find anything not even when i type Divx and Xvid. I'm not behind a firewall, but I am behind a router.

dude, screw DC++, use the only p2p program worth using, LIMEWIRE a.k.a. the next generation of p2p, its free too.

Limewire?? Don't make me laugh :) Currently is running Ares, Torrent Storm and TrustyFiles <-- (a little unstable, but damn it connects to both Kazaa, G1 and G2 = Highspeed downloads ;)), have tried almost every P2P that's worth trying. The reason why I wanted to try the Direct Connect protocol, cause it downloads very quickly, but screw it. I'll go back to basic using Torrent Storm, excellent BT alternative :)
