depends what you want to do. adobe premiere pro is a high end video editor, but not very good with audio. for just audio pro tools is pretty much top of the line, but requires its own hardware to run. other software-based audio editors are adobe audition and sound forge. another good video editor is avid xpress, but you need a dongle for it
okay to be a bit more specific i want something to edit vidoes, for example put a few clips of differnt videos into one clip, and have a music running in the backround, just software no hardware. i need to be able to cut certain videos so it only plays little pieces of them.
Nero Visoin express dus that job for me, It takes its time but results are very worthwhile, You can have a sound running through in the background and you can edit the video. This proggy sounds just right for you
theres Nero and a few others that are basic editors, but if you want all the features nothing beats a full-blown pro editing system. it all depends on how complicated of a video you want to make and your budget
well I DON'T recommend or condone it, but if you want to TRY it you can easily find premiere floating around bit torrents or IRC. The full version (which comes with adobe after effects) retails online for around $500.
I purchase software that I use to make a profit with. Therefore even they are pretty damn expensive, I actually bought Pro Tools (had to though cause it requires hardware), adobe premiere, and adobe photoshop. same thing with CDs, I'll DL an album, and if I like it and like the band I'll support them and buy the CD...although I admit I don't buy as many CDs as I used to
