Do you think this is a good idea....Im backed up NCAA Football 06 onto a PRO-DATA DVD-R (Recordable - Enregistrable) 4.7GB 120MIN and [WRITE FROM 1X UP TO 4X] Now do you think the disc was a good choice? I have a slimline PS2 and its modded so I can play my LEGAL backups....so do you think the dsc might damage the laser? And please tell me the best DVD-R media for the PS2...THANKS!!!

First off welcome to afterdawn, now when backing up games try to write at the slowest speed you can, may take longer,But (TIME IS TO PERFECT) AS (FAST IS TO COASTER) word of the wise, Never heard of PRO-DATA DVD-R, But stop useing R- disc, If you have a ps2 slim line use R+ and the best disc to use Are Verbatim they work great for ps2 game back ups and I've never had one problem yet with verbatim and they have one of the highest media codes. No burnt disc don't damage the laser,Just so you know you need a mod chip or swap magic to boot your back up.

So instead of using DVD-Rs, I should use DVD+Rs? WHy? DOes it make a difference? I heard people say -Rs is a lot better than +Rs.

Not true,Why i say to use R+ is because the ps2 slime has ahard time reading r- and I'm sure If you use R- You'll see what I'm saying, you'll have games that want play and/or games that the cut seens you can't see and cut seens that have bad audio, when I first started burning games i to was Useing R- disc and only about half would play right and I was like what the hell I'm I doing wrong, and after talking to people here Like hursty, who if you read alot of post you'll find out he knows his sh^t, Told me to use R+ because I had A slim Line and that was what the problem was not me, And he was right I've Never had one bad back up With R+ disc, Oh And I also Found out that verbatim disc are the best to use so I stopped useing my TDK disc and started use verbatim best thing I ever did, Hope This helps
