I've spent the past 2 days straight trying to get a PS2 backup to work. I've read many guides on different ways of doing. Some say to just save the game onto your harddrive as an image and burn, others say you need to patch, some to rebuild. I've tried all of them except the patching, every time I download a program to patch it doesn't work.

I am trying to burn the new game Juiced (The racing one).
I have a slide card and swap magic 3.3.

AddZer0 Frontend gives me a runtime error when patching.

If I use nero/alcohol/ultraiso to save an image on my computer and than use nero to burn it I get an Invalid PS2 disc in swap magic.

When using DVD Decryptor and using swap magic I get the same error.

What Am I doing wrong? Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I'm not a newb when it comes to computers, but this is just confusing because there are 100 guides telling me to do 100 different things.

Please assist me.

hi
What media are you using try looking here http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm also burning speed has a lot to do with a game not playing i never burn over x4. I have a copy on a MMC disc and it will boot without a problem on my v12 with a matrix infinity, but another copy on a ritek g04 disc will not play ( a bad burn maybe) DVD Decrypter should do the job no problems

The slide card is simple to use once you get use to the technique but for a new user it can prove tricky, if you run me through the steps ill tell you if your doing everything correctly

Also check your media and make sure its dvd -r and also that your burning at x4 speed with Nero.

I know I'm using the slide card correctly. and I'm using DVD+R discs...is there a different from DVD+R and DVD-R? I using Nero to burn.

I've been thinking and do you think its my media thats making me not get a successful backup? I'm using a brand called 'Teon' (never even heard of them before' DVD+R 8x discs. They are the only discs I have ever tried to use.

Also for using the slidecard, I'm almost positive im using it correctly, but who knows, I could be doing it wrong ha.

I removed my ps2 front panel to the drive. After booting swapmagic I insert the slidecard below the drive about into the middle and push it all the way in. I slide the card directly across the bottom feeling as though it pushes something to the side. The hook on my slidecard is broke so after I get the disc drive to come unlocked I just use a knife to pull it the rest of the way out.

Also, I'm going to buy new DVD's, what is the most reliable discs I can buy from like bestbuy? I looked on their website and saw they had verbatim dvd-r's. What is the most and best dvd-r with $20 because i'm a poor ass hah.

Now that I figured out I've been burning with the wrong discs this whole time, when I get my new dvd-r's what should I do? Do I still need to patch the iso and all that shit with cdvdgen and that kind of stuff? Or can I simply just use DVD Decryptor to extract it onto my harddrive and than burn the image after?

it depends on the game mate, you can just use DVD Decrypter read and then write on 90% of games. However some games may present a problem and if they dont work then you should rebuild them.
