Newbie question on emulators and PSP disc type

ok, i'm totally new to the PSP. i want to know do i need a mod of any type to run nes/snes/etc. emulators on the PSP, or can i just install the emulators and roms and run them?

second, what format discs are the PSP games and movies using? can the PSP read normal 3" single layer DVD discs?

thanks for any help you guys can send on this.

You can just install them if you have v1.0 or v1.5 firmware. Psp uses umd (universal media disc) discs, so you can't use any dvd's on it.

however you can transfer your mini dvds into a mpg4 and put that to a memory stick and play them.... (i just wanted to feel like i helped out)
