problem with LG DRD8160B dvd drive.

Basically I just got this drive and it dosen't read dvd's at all. It will read cd's fine,but won't read dvd's. And I also found and downloaded new firmware to upgrade to, but I don't understand how to install it? Anyones help will be much appreciatted. Thanx.
