Multizone DVD Recorders. Please advise!

Hi,

I truly wished to buy a certain DVD recorder, but then was told that that particular model would not be compatible with NTSC, PAL and SECAM all together.
I live in Tel-Aviv, Israel, and so was told that I must get a multizone recorder. First, is that truly indispensable? The variety of the multizone recorders is very very poor!
Can you please advise? I am looking for a device capable of plugging to both cables and satellite, to my laptop for perfect editing of any recorded movies on its built-in HDD of at least 80 GB, perfect as possible quality of both audio and photo, very very reliable burning process of DVD-RAM and DVD-R, multizone, multiregion.
Is there such a beast?? Please comment.
