so I'm new here... 1st post (yay). Anyway, I've been reading some posts about Swap Magic and have been thinking about getting it... just have some questions and want to make sure in some aspects.

1) In order to play backup PS2 games... all you need is SW (or a mod chip).. right?
2) My laptop can only burn DVD+Rs and not DVD-Rs, so is that fine when working with SW? My burned DVD+R movies work fine in my ps2...
3) Can you go online using a backup game?
4) When burning a game, does it have to be in .iso format? (not a problem for me, I've worked with DVD Decrypter plenty of times).
5) Where can I buy a SW and at how much do they cost around?
6) From the posts I've read... it seems some games are 100% compatible when using SW... but some games require extra patches (God of War I think)... so is there a list somewhere that shows which games work best with sw, etc?
7) How exactly does SW work? do you attach the slider onto your ps2... put the swap disc in, take it out... then place the backup game in, and thats it?

sorry for the "newbie" questions... I'd rather be called a "newbie" then have bought things that won't work. I like to be clear as possible on everything. And thanks for those who reply

ok i will help you on what i know.
Q,1 yes
Q,2 the answer will depend on your ps2 my ps2 WONT play DVD+R but many others do so if DVD+R movies work then you wont have problem.
Q.3 yes im not sure entirely how but someone will tell you.
Q,4 with dvd decryptor yes
Q,5 compare prices online
Q,6 most will dont think there is a list. for your first game burn a early game to see if that works. then you wont be wasting a shit load of time trying to figure out if you are doing it correctly.as some games require patches and rebuilds but not that many.
Q,7 if you have ps2 slim dont know. if you have original, then all you do is put in smd wait for insert disc screen use slide tool now to open(you will need to make minor adjustment to your ps2)swap swapmagic with backup push tray back.use slide tool again then press x and play. i wish i could have got this info this fast it took me a faw weeks to sus out all i needed to know.good luck

Q3 Very risky. You must re-author the backup. If you get caught using a backup online they'll lock out your PS2 from using it online with any other games.
