Hi all, I've been through almost topic for topic and haven't found anything remotely close to the problem that I'm experiencing at the moment. I just started to backup my dvd collection, but when I play the backup dvd in the slimline ps2 the picture lags (real bad) and the audio is way outta sync. The procedure that I'm using to backup my dvd's is that I start out by ripping it with dvd decrypter on to my hd, then compressing it with clonedvd, then burning it with nero 6. I have pioneer dvd-rw dvr-109 and I'm using ridata for media. All theories and opinions will be gratefully accepted in the hopes that one day I may be able to help someone else who may have a problem.
Also, I've played other burnt dvd's on the same playstation, given to me by friends, and they seem to work just fine, so I really can't understand why the dvd's that I'm burning are any different. Also, the same dvd's that don't seem to work on my ps2, seem to work perfectly in a normal stand alone dvd player, so why don't they work when I play them on my ps2?
well you maybe right sui-cyco, at the moment i'm using DVD-R so i'm gonna switch and try DVD+R see if there is a difference, thank you for that and i will keep you updated.
I have a slim PSTwo and i use +R for all my movies and -R for all my games. (TDK or Philips)
Are these DVD movies or games that you are doing?
If they are games you should use DVD Decrypter for the whole process.
If they are movies i would use CloneDVD (if it is the original purchased copy like i have) for the whole process.
I hate Nero, i have it but when i used it for movies they never turned out too good.
Also DVD Shrink is a great free program that can do the whole process. It will save to a temp folder from the original then burn onto a new DVD
I burn all my stuff (games and movies) at 4X
it sounds like you are really using way too many programs just to make a back up. Using one program will work better, not all programs seem to work well in combination.
well steimy i've just bought a stack of DVD+R and it seems to be working a hell of lot better, and yes i'm only burning movies at the moment, i think that you have a point that maybe i'm using 2 too many programs for such a simple task so i'm gonna try just using CloneDVD and see how i go, will keep you updated
my thanx and gratitude to both sui-cyco and steimy for both your inputs together you have both solved my problems and have helped me to backup my dvd's successfully and painfully, hopefully i can help another in need also
dude why don't you make it simple and use dvd decryter mode iso read then mode iso write. you don't even need to go through all that dvdcloner then Nero.
