why is there a % icon for some folders containing homebrew software?

for example,

lumines
lumines%

wat does this mean with the % symbol following the file name?

No, it plas an important part in running a homebrew. Back in my day of playing homebrews, you had to use two memory sticks, it was known as the swap trick. However some guys have figured out to do it with out needing to swap memory sticks, so they created the kswap tool, however to still trick your psp for booting the brew, you need two folders, one is the firt start, which says its there, and the second for the actual game, . this trick your psp into making it read the brew.... DO NOT delete it, you wont be able to run the brew if you delete it.
