I need to find free software to edit some music files like some nature sounds that i would like to splice together and get rid of the gaps and spaces so it would seem to be one long track. Their are some other things i want to do also but you get the idea.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
