Im running a PSTwo slimline with a matrix infinity chip.
I can boot games if the disk is in the pstwo before turning it on, but if I try boot a game when the pstwo is already on, it just comes up the "Please insert Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc".
This also means that when I use my AR Max EVO Edition, I can't use the cheats because the game doesnt boot up, when I insert my backup copy of the game.
Not with mine. I use AR Max all the time in myt slim PSTwo. It has a DMS4 Pro chip in it.
I put in the AR Max, go to expert medoe, choose the game and cheats i want, then choose to start the game with codes. Then i put in my back up copy and it loads right up.
(non-cheat disc switch)
One problem many people have is that they try to switch games just by opening the flip top or pressing reset and switching them. That only works for me about 50% of the time. But if i press the On/Off button, turn it off, then switch to a new game it loads up every time. I have also found that if you have a chip and use your PSTwo in a place that does not have air conditioning it can really cause problems with loading up stuff. To solve this you can just take a fan and have it pointed directly at the air vents in the PSTwo so that it stays cool.
Do you think i need a flip top or slide card to be able to switch games (AR MAX to my DVD-R Backup) successfully whilst the PSTwo is already booted up?
I never change the default settings on DVD Decrypter
I am not sure why it is giving you problems. That chip says it is compatible with AR Max, not sure about EVO though, that one is newer than the chip. It just says Action Replay & Action Replay Max
a slim PSTwo with a chip should not need anything extra to use the cheat discs like Swap Magic does.
How are you doing it, are you choosing the game manually or are you just trying to put in AR Max and have it recognize the discs like you would do with originals.
I always choose the game manually.
But the way I do it is by going into expert mode, selecting the game I want to use codes for, ticking the codes I want to use then finally attempting to start the game with the codes that I've activated.
But after that when I switch the AR MAX disc to my DVD-R backup then press "X" to select OK. It just stays on that screen because the PSTwo can't boot the backup for some apparent reason.
Yes your method is what i mean by doing it manually.
The other method would be what you use with originals, which is put in AR Max, and then just put in the game. AR Max would then recognize which game it was and start it with the codes.
I am stumped here because from what i can tell you are oing it right.
