Try Azureus. Also, if there are no good sharing peers, you will not be getting speed. The speed depends on the people.

Just to see if I can help more...What is your connection speed? Dial-up 56, DSL, etc...Also, ISP and transfer limits if you know them.

Maybe try reinstalling Shareaza. Also, don't use shareaza, it sucks bum for spare change. I personally use Torrents and Ares. Never a problem with either.
Is the speed of the internet slow also or is it just in P2P??

Ares?? It shouldn't be hard to find, it is freeware. I am using the Lite version now...No particular reason, just didn't feel like getting the full version because I didn't want to wait on it. I have the ares lite installation on my HD. http://www.aresgalaxy.org/
Try that, I think it works...

Hey...Thanks for the uh...I don't know...Awesome talk about me doing a good job at trying to help. I am not a pro or anything but I have already spent many many hours on here just reading threads to see if I can help. I think it's nice to know that when I was having trouble and had to find the answer the hard way, it paid off to help other people in the same situation. Its like take one for the team lol. As for the Ares thing...It usually works pretty good and I am on there sharing over 1 gig. Also, use Azureus as your BT client, as soon as I got it, I saw all of my speeds skyrocket.
Just to see if anyone knows...My DL is supposed to be limited to 150KB/s...In Azureus I can see this limit come into effect, I can never go over. But in Ares, I have gotten lucky I guess and I have seen speeds of over 700KB/s!! It was for large files so it definately helped...But I am curious as to how Ares can bypass the speed cap like that??

Hey...It depends, some DL's have a hard time starting up, and you begin deep in queue...This is to make sure that a user isn't uploading to 1000 people at once giving them all 0KB speed. You have to wait in line sometimes, but good sharers open up fairly quickly. Also, rare files and files shared by only 1 or 2 people are very slow. For best results, if you need to get a file and it is available in like 10 different choices, pick the one with most peers...This will increase the chance of awesome speed. Just for curiosity, what are you getting? PM if you want to.

Yes...When you get the internet, your ISP sets the limits of your UL and DL. Mine are 150KB/s DL and 100KB/s UL (Approximately) Ares has bypassed that on more than one occasion. lol, we're discussing insanely fast speeds in a thread titled lousy download speed. Anyways, any ideas??
