PS2 Games you mean ?

you need swap magic 3.6 and a fliptop

swap magic makes the games bootable

And the fliptop lets you switch discs with out the system knowing the lid is open(there are tools you can buy and insert that do the same thing as a fliptop for the slim PS2)

Use the search button up top there is so much info on this site its unreal

well there are 3 programs out there that are most recognized as PC game backup programs, there are others but I have no interest in them since they have no credit to there name.

1. Alcohol 120%
http://trial.alcohol-soft.com/en/
2. Blindwrite5
http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm
3. Clonecd
http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonecd.html

Another program to varify the protection of the game would be Aray scanner (freeware I might add) which you can pickup here http://www.aray-software.com/index.php?showtopic=74

I prefer Alcohol 120% over all so as soon as you choose which program suits you post back and we will help.

See you later till then.

BTW Age of Empires II is Safedisc 1.50.020 protected

I don't need GREAT programs I just need a free-ware program that simply takes off the copy protection of my games so that I can back them up.

No such thing champ as a "free-ware program that simply takes off the copy protection" I thought you were smart enough since you were "gamingtechnology" PRO!

I've been backing up all my PS2 games using DVD Decrypter and they're all flawlessly. Yes.... DVD Decrypter is that good. Just go to Mode, ISO, Read R to your hard drive and wait untill it's successfully completed. After that, go to Mode, ISO, Write, that's it.... easy as smoking. (NOTE: please keep in mind to use high quality media such as the famous Taiyo Yuden (including both Fuji & Sony "Made In Japan"), Maxell "Made In Japan" and Verbatim (manufactured code: MCC003.)

You'll also need aftermarket modification such as Flip Top with Swap Magic to boot up the backup copy or an internal Modchip on your PS2 console in order to play it right.

I think if your asking how to make a backup of your game, please be specific on which platform your using eg. PC, PS2, XBOX so we can direct you better since this thread can get confusing on how to make a backup of a game.

I was suggesting how to make a PC game backup and others are talking about PS2 backups.

BE SPECIFIC PLEASE!!

I know you were talking about PC games I just don't want others to get confused with other programs and what not.

Post back -F45N8R- and give an update on how it goes :)

feel free to ask away also if you run into any snaggs.

geestar20,

The above question was post by the original poster name krazi30, I'm not sure what kind of copy righted games he really meant i.e. PS2, XBOX, or PC etc. So basically, I was just giving the simple and basic steps on how to burn PS2 games using DVD Decrypter that's all.

Anyways, it's all good though, and I guess some people tend to be that way when asking question, yet did not stated clearly of what they needed, so let them be.

@peanuts2,

According to my understanding, DVD Decrypter is still the best of all. I've heard of Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120 and Blindwrite, but my preference is (1) DVD Decrypter and (2) Nero. However, the choice is yours to make.

Daemon tools is a virtual drive and emulation app.

Alcohol 120% can install virtual drives as well as emulation but Daemon Tools cannot make backup of games, only Alcohol can do this.
