I'm looking for some help interpretting the problem with my system. I've had a lot of success burning DVDs with this setup of a Dell 2350, TDK440N burner, and Beall 4x disks. Now I keep making coasters because of reset occured errors. Can you help me troubleshoot this error log. I'm starting to think that the DVD burner is wore out and needs to be replaced. Thanks.

I would try another brand of discs. Media quality is very important.
If you're ordering from the net, then Ritek, Verbatim, or Taiyo Yuden are great choices. If you're going down to wally world, then Sony should do the trick....

@gr8kids -

Recorder: <TDK DVDRW0404N> Version: 1.0C
- firmware seems to be up to date, if a little old in the tooth - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1596. Also some good info here - http://herrie.org/oemdrive.html

- 256MB is insufficient for XP never mind dvd burning on top. you're gonna have to free up more memory, but you really need to consider buying a bit more memory. A total of 512MB would be fine for XP and dvd work. As this log stands your hard drive will be 'swapping' - not good and not good for a dvd trying to burn from the same hard drive

- 'fraid you need to get decent discs - these certainly aren't :)
