I have Nero, Shrink, and Decrypter but am unable to burn wmv files to dvd. I can make a vcd but the files will have to be split among three cd's.
Is there a program to convert wmv to a dvd friendly format?
Thanks,
Tony

Thanks Frank.
Any idea how I can compile separate conversions to one disk. Nero gives an error; "A special entry already present on the target location. Originial, Joliet or ISO file names can be identical. Cannot move 'VTS_01_2.VOB' to new location."
I converted three WMV's and they all have VOB 01's.
Thanks again,
Tony

Try renaming the .vobs:
If you have three vts_01_1.vobs, one from each video file, you should be able to rename them:
vts_01_1.VOB (this one stays the same)
vts_01_2.vob
vts_01_3.vob
See if that will let you add them.

After renaming the second and third parts to VOB,2,3, I got a Nero error "VTS 1, and 3 IFO not found. For some reason the conversion of the three wmv files only created an IFO for number 2. There is no IFO for parts 1 and 3 that were converted. It burned but with errors and doesn't play back because of the missing IFO's.
I guess I'll have to make a VCD from the original wmv's.
Thanks for your help Frank. I added DivXtoDVD to my toolbag.
Best,
Tony

This is what I would do. I would convert each of the three movies to seperate VIDEO_TS folders. Once that was done I would open Shrink, select Open files, get the first folder and then select Reauthor once it completed analyzing. I would then use the file browser to select the other two folders and drag them into the compilation. Shrink will create the new .ifo files and combine the three folders into one.

Gave it a try Frank, but Shrink wouldn't load the VIDEO_TS folder because it couldn't find an IFO file.
Thanks again,

I tried it myself without problems. This is what I did:
First, I made two "Working Folders" (named clip1 and clip2), one for each clip, on my hard drive.
I also made a third folder (named Shrink_output). This third folder would be the destination of the compilation from Shrink.
I opened DivXtoDVD, using my registered version 1.99.12.27.
I clicked "Settings" and then the general tab to select the first of the "Working Folders"( In this case, clip1)as the destination. Once that was done, I closed the Options menu and returned to the main window.
I clicked on the green + to browse for my first .wmv file.
Once the file was selected, I clicked on the "Convert" button.
DivXToDVD spent a few minutes converting.
I then repeated the process for the second clip, selecting the second "Working Folder"(clip2)
Once the two conversions were completed, I closed DivXtoDVD and opened DVD Shrink.
I selected Re-Author and then using the file browser on the right, I located my first folder, clip1.
Double clicking clip1 opened it, it now showed the name of the original file. I double clicked that and it showed Title 1, which is what I was after.
I dragged Title 1 to the Compilation area on the left. Shrink performed an analysis.
I then repeated the process for clip2.
My compilation looked like this:
Title 1
Tile 1 (2)
Once that was done, I selected Backup! and backed up the compilation of clip1 and clip2 to the third folder,"Shrink_Output", completing the process.
The next step would be burning this to a DVD.

The difference is I have the freebee, version 0.5.2.99, you have the registered. Since this was the only time I wanted to use it I didn't want to pay. Next time I have a need I'll register to get all the features, including the creation of IFO files:)
Thanks Frank,
Tony

That's probably it. I actually bought it today and tried it for the first time for the previous reply. I really like the program. I have a couple of others I have used but this one seems to work really well. It's easy to use and the registered version is fairly fast. With the 10% off discount it was $26.99 which is a good deal for this program, IMHO.

Frank, I got it to work.
For some reason when I changed the "Aspect" from "Automatic" to "Force 16:9 I would not get the IFO file. So I retried it with the default (Automatic) settings and converted all three wmv movies. This was using the freebee.
Thanks again for your advice and recommendation for DivXtoDVD, nice program to have.
