I have been having this problem for awhile, and it seems so does everyone else but many just dont know about it. Noone seems to know how to fix it either. Whenever I downsample a dvd9 movie using dvd2avi to demux to get the .d2v file and audio and then CCE to re-encode, the video always comes out 1 or 2 shades darker. You can totally see a difference. You can see a big difference in movies where the scene is already dark, its really making me mad. Ive done like 100 movies by now, and I guess I just havnt cared untill now. I know other people have the same problem also and dont know how to fix it. If you use CCE chances are your video is also darker, you just havnt compared it to anything to notice. Someone here has to know how to fix this. Its really making me mad. Any help would be appreciated. It will help many people.
I use DVD2AVI 1.76 and 1.77 and CCE version 2.50. It can only be Dvd2avi or CCE causing it. In CCE there is a luminance under video settings, by default is set to 16 to 235. I was thinking maybe that should be set to 0 to 255? Or maybe its DVD2AVI bug adding darker gamma to everything by default? I know DVD2AVI has a gamma slider but i make sure they are set to off. Anyone know another good demuxing program that gives a .d2v file? For the love of god! :P
