I'm running XP Sp2 and have a Pioneer 107D burner, firmware 1.13. I'm also using Nero 6.6.0.1.

I've never had any problems with the burner before but I've just recently reinstalled my OS and now whenever I try to burn a DVD, I get a communication failure error. I've tried reseating the IDE cable and also just downloaded the ASPI drivers 4.60 but as soon as I start a burn, the error comes up. This is also happening when burning CDs, no matter what type of media I use (currently use Imation and have never had a problem with them previously). Could someone please take a look at this log and let me know if it provides any clues to my problem? Thanks.

Got it working by installing the Intel Application Accelerator which updated my IDE drivers (and I assume speeds up my system as an added benefit). Strange as it used to work fine with the Windows drivers but at least it's working again. Give it a shot.
