I never thought that any version Limewire has or had spyware. I've been using Limewire Pro 4 over a year and have never had a problem. Limewire Pro cost $ though.

Okay thanks a lot guys. I got LimeWire 4.8.1 now I have another question. I don't know if this is normal but I only get up to 100kbps (if lucky) when downloading files from the programs search. I was just curious if there was a patch or something I could do to speed this up. I have a 1.0Mbps connection and when I download files from Internet Explorer my average is about 400kbps. Do I need to open more ports? I have a router and I don't know really how to do that but someone told me it helps. Sorry if this question breaks the fules. I'm new to all of this.

as of right now (for me) Limewire Pro is almost next to none when trying to get a program. Is this the same for you all?

the creators were trying to make it look like legitimate file sharing. to prove their points, they had to put some trust in their users not to do that...and they trusted me well enough. a buddy sent Pro to me in an email :D

While were talking about limewire i have a ?. In the real world u have to pay limewire to use the pro version, but once u pay u can download anything u want anytime u want. I dont think that limewire is turning around and giving this money to Slim Shady, so why doesn't limewire get in trouble? Aren't they making money off of sumthing that is suppose to be illegal?

lots of p2p creators and distributors get in trouble...don't you guys remember Sharman (i think it was them) Networks getting sued for the whole Kazaa thing?

with most online music dealies that i know of, you pay a fee to download whatever music you want and a cut goes to various music labels. i can only imagine a similar system works with legitimate paid-for p2p programs designed for all forms of files.

personally, i only noticed that my speeds were a little bit better and the software was more pleasing to look at with the upgrade. but, that was about it.
