Using Alcohol 120, getting disc read error while trying to make image (gets to around 47% done).

Disc is scratched but plays fine in the PS2 (though I'm only a 1/3 of the way through the game, it could start freezing any time now).

Any special techniques for backing up this game? If not I'll just take the disc to blockbuster and get them to put it through the electric game doctor like thing.

there is no way you can fix a scratched disk

go here needs $4.00 per a dvd r www.ps2backup.vze

if your game doesnt work when you order it there is a Replacement Policy

and the good part is if you order 5 games and up shipping is free

on all orders you made

or you can just go rent the game at block buster whice will cost you $7.00 per or hollywood videos

or sign up with block buster for $20.00 bucks a mounth and rent all the games

i think they only let you rent one game at a time

if the game is getting disk read error there is no way you can fix it bro

my ps2 used to get disc read errors

befor i ship it out to sony and they replace the lens for free

cause my model number is old that's how you get it for free

Scratched discs *can* be fixed if the scratch isnt too severe (haven't you ever heard of a game doctor?).

The disc read error isnt occuring on the PS2 but on the PC when I'm trying to back it up (as I said in previous post).

1. A game doctor would cost *less* than the original copy of the game, it's the original disc I'm trying to copy, it is scratched, it needs to go through a game doctor.

2. I'm not even buying a game doctor, as stated previously, I'm going to use blockbuster's electric game doctor for a very small fee.

3. A PS2 disc for $4.00? Are you talking about a blank disc that you can copy a PS2 game on to? As in a DVD+R/DVD-R?
