If I'm not mistaken, the psp needed to be ver. 1.50 or 1.00 only for the wipeout hack. And no you can't just stick wipeout in and have internet. You need to have an access to a wireless internet access point( hot spot) that's near by. Just do the forum search, man. There're enough infomation of this matter out there I don't even know where to begin :P

It has to be firmare 1.00 or 1.50 otherwise it won't work. You also can update to 2.0 and browse the internet but than you will not be able to run emulators

You have to go to the psp site of your country. The link can be found on the playstation site. Here in Europe there is yourpsp.com. There you have to look for the update and follow the instructions on the site. You can always do it if you have an wireless router. Link your psp with the accesspoint and look in the psp manual

Q: How do I get on the 'Net with the PSP?
A: Via Wi-Fi!
Q: What's Wi-Fi?
A: I'm glad you asked! WI-Fi is also known as 802.11 there are currently no less then Four types of 802.11 these are known as: A, B, G and N.
Q: Ok So do I need a Wi-Fi Router and or Wireless Access Point?
A: Yes to get on the Interweb you'll have to be able to connect to the Interweb though an Infastructure Mode as opposed to say the Ad Hoc Mode which you'd use to connect up to Two (or more), PSP's together. The simplest way would be to get a Router. Problem is it costs more. If you just want a Wireless Access Point, then you'll also need to buy an 802.11a,b,g or n PCI Card for your PC, and then connect your 802.11x Card for Internet Connection Shareing through your Operating System. The Wireless Access Point will then allow you to setup an Infastructure Mode between the PSP and your PC.
Q: Can I just use Ad Hoc to get on the Net?
A: NO! You must either have an 802.11x PCI Card + Wireless Access Point, or a 802.11x Router, and have it setup to either use the ICS features of your OS. Or have your 802.11x Router properly setup to get into the Interweb!
Q: What do I need to get on the Web (PSP Side)
A: You'll need the PSP v2.0 Firmware, while the PSP v2.01 & v2.50 will also work you can only downgrade PSP v2.00 as of the time of writing.
Q: But I have PSP v1.50?
A: Ok there's the Tenchi Browser and the Wipeout Pure Browser. Granted neither has that quite polished feel to it like the PSP v2.0 Browser. and Tenchi is only in Japanese. But, these Browsers aren't that much different to the One in v2.0! None of 'em will support Macomedia Flash However. And only a handfull of Websites are actully able to disply properly on the PSP itself.
Q: Will the Tenchi and or Wipeout Pure Web Browser's work on my PSP v1.51 v1.52?
A: No like all Homebrew, Emulation or ISO Loading it'll only work on PSP's with Firmware v1.0 or v1.5 installed.

I tried to use the fired up web broswer, but everytime I click on download to access the web through the game, I just get a black screen. I'm using fastloader V.07. I also read that you must use UMD Emulator to use the web browser. Everytime I install UMD Emulator on my psp and try to start it, my psp freezes and shuts down. I have version 1.5 on my psp and I have several homebrew working already. I just can't get fired up web browser or UMD Emulator to work....please help.

ok...in your Root directory(this is the window that pops up when you plug in your psp...has the PSP folder on it)...you should put the WEB folder...and place the friedup iso in your ISO folder...and remember you need to be around a wireless router for this browser to work...good luck, holla ;)

I have the web folder on the root of my memory card, (the section that first opens when I connect my psp). Then I have the iso in the iso folder which is also on the root of the memory card. I also tried to have the iso folder inside the "psp" folder. Neither way worked for me...

Ok I was given a Wireless Router as a Gift from my Uncle. As he didn't need it any more. I'm starting to appreciate the idea of 802.11g too. =)
The tirck is to have a Router that's been properly configured! with your PPPoE Settings then you can eventualy deleate those settings from the PC. Upshot beeing I don't have to "Dail-in" to the Internet through a PPPoE Account as the Router has already done this!
Barring that you need to set the Infastructure Mode on the PSP to locate and use the local WLAN Seetings that you provided the Router with. If your smart enough to use WEP to close your WLAN off to the man on the Street. Make sure that that Key is also enterd into the PSP as well.
The Address Settings: should be set to Manual!
IP Address: This should fall into the same IP Range as your Router. (i.e. 192.168.xxx.xxx),. The Subnet will be 255.255.255.0. The Default Router: Is the IP Address of your Router.
[B]NOW YOU NEED TO HAVE THIS SETTING TO USE ANY BOWSER THAT I CAN THINK OF!! Or it won't work.
Primary DNS: 67.171.70.72
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Proxy Settings: No Proxies, (unless you have to normaly).
'X': To test your connection, then save.
Having done this I was able to use the Tenchi, Wipeout Pure Browsers. But, it's S L O W A S S H * T on a cold January Morning!!!
Is that normal for an 802.11*b* (11Mb/s), Connection. Or is the Wipeout Browser. in a word just a steaming pile of IT?!?!
BTW: PSP RADIO ROCKS! Now if only we could stream Vidio's tooo....
