I just got my psp, and made sure it was version 1.5 when I got it (it says it is in the settings and everything), but when I use kXploit, I get to the part where you push the generate files button and it says this....
"it has not been possible to create directory A:\PSP\GAME"

If this helps, my memory is only 32mb. That may not be enough, but I thought I read that kxploit was only 16mb.

Have you created the folder "GAME" under the "PSP" folder?

it's fixed, I was trying to create it in the wrong drive, I feel dumb.
