Well, Bluetooth Technology for mobile phones basically means to transfer data wirelessly, so it's basically the same for the controller, you will not need cables to connect the controller to the PS3, the data will be sent via bluetooth to the machine.

Bluetooth is a wireless connection type similar to other wireless connectivity that you can find today, but has less of an operating range (30 - 50 ft I believe)in exchange for a higher data rate.... Not that that matters anyways - as evident with wireless routers and their speed being more than enought for 7 controllers :P

Does anyone know, why seven. First of all splitting a screen 4 ways is barely enough, even on my big screen. What the fuck are we going to need seven for. And on that note, why 7. why not 8, why not 6? I think an even number would have made sense

The reason it's 7 is because Bluetooth supports 8 devices at once, and the PS3 counts as one of them.

Just looking for any interesting speculation about connecting other bluetooth devices
can't realy think of anything that would be useful as the PS2 should have all useful connections
Maybe mobile phones with MP3 and cameras
Thought Id make a point on the What the fuck are we going to need seven for question
I hear that the PS3 will support 2 HDTV simultaneously so 7 player split screen action will not only be possible but revolutionary
