is there a dvd standalone player that supports both dvd-r and dvd+r backups.EXAMPLE mintek-1600.Ive been through atleast 10 web pages that give you one or the other .But are not always updated.I want a dvd player for my living room that plays it all.+/-/+rw/-rw just like my sony dru-500a which kicks ass.

There have a section for dvd players and compatibility submitted from members.

Excellent for benchmarking a standalone.

I have the Philips DVD624...and it plays both DVD-R, DVD+R, SVCD, etc...

I also have the DRU500A....awesome drive....

It has been great!
