I just installed a wd8gig out of an xbox on my computer.. i used hdmanager to format and istall ntfs partition.. my bios and device manager recognizes it but i can't access or see it in mycomputer.. probably something stupid but i've never installed hdd before. any help would be great.. would it make my system run faster if i was to use the small hdd for xp only?

the hard drive is probably locked. if it is you need to reinstall it in your xbox and unlock it. then take it back out and reformat it a really good tutorial can be found here.

Go to start, right click my computer, manage, disk management. There is a list of all drives. If the drive is there it, may need a drive letter assignment.

No worries, I had the same prob recognising my zip drive. then I found the solution at Afterdawn! Top job.
