Freeware Batch Bitrate Converter

What I'm looking for is preferably a freeware program taht quickly converts the bitrate of MP3s. I guess more than anything the fastest batch bitrate converter is what I want. Thanks a lot!

dBPowerAMP is good when using with the LAME codec, I'm not 100% sure it does batches though.

just fyi, transcoding your mp3s to a different bitrate will result in major quality loss, I highly recommend against it

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

I know that. I'm encoding all my MP3s with WavePad. It has a batch converter and it goes at OK speed I guess. I don't know if there is any faster than that. I convert all my Mp3s to 128kbps from higher bitrates. Thanks for the advice by the way.

as long as it works for you then kudos, but there is major degredation when converting from lossy to lossy format, it won't sound near as good as the original
