Ok, whats the difference between Nero and Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator ?
I've been useing Roxio for years and out of all the CD's and DVD's
I've copied (for my own use) I have only ever had one or two disc's
to throw in the bin.
So why do people allways sing the praises for Nero ?
What are the fundamental differences ?

i myself used Easy CD Creator back in the 3.x days thru the 4.x days, fantastic product for cd's). Then when 5.x came out (think it was called Platinum) i personally had real big problems with stability etc, so i canned it (there may well have been fixes for it but i lost interest fast) and started using Nero. Had zero problems with thru various 5.x versions, then discovered dvd burning, bought a newer burner which wasn't supported in 5.x so went 6.x and have still had zero Nero-related issues. What i will say is i just do straight cd burning (audio & data), and dvd burning (dvd video format where programs such as as DVD Shrink et al have provided the files to input to Nero). i don't do any of the fancy stuff as just don't have the need for anything else, but do turn my hand to solving various Nero problems in posts, even Nerovision where i have no idea about Nerovision itself, i just attack the logfiles.

Roxio and Nero don't tend to play too well on the same PC, though i sometimes read that problems such as his are becoming less common.

Sorry i'm not fully answering your question, these days the only time i come across Roxio is where it's causing conflicts, it seems (to me anyway) that Nero is more widely used, certainly around Afterdawn, but that's just my perception.

yeah I used Roxio for a good while and it is an ok program, but I just like to use Nero better. I use Nerovision all the time to get AVI and stuff like that to dvd. I gess I just find that Nero is a simpler program to use.
