Compaq Presario with a HP DVD Writer 400c. Device manager shows okay, no new drivers or updates are available.
I can download the "movie" to computer via fire wire to MS movie maker, and can play back on movie maker. Sony's software is fairly cryptic, and when I try to burn movie onto DVD, it say "no disc". I've also tried a freeware program, but again "no disc". Have tried DVD +RW and -RW. I've now read HP only works with +RW, so I will exchange -RW for +RW, but I feel i am missing some crucial step or hardware glitch. When I run a diagnostic test of drives, the test will not recognize dvd or cd(music). It will recognize and write to Kodak Easyshare for burning still pictures, and recognizes PC video games.
Please help!
