I need to record some VHS tapes to DVD. Some I have are copyright protected, although I bought them. I have heard that the ILO R04 unit is capable of doing this with a certain patch, and the 05 is not. I have access to buying the older 04 model, but need to know if it will do this. Anybody know for sure ? Thanks for any help on this.........

Yes, [WITH HACK] Go to www.ss3f.com for firmware. follow instructions. If needed See Guitarman instruction www.normediasolutions.com/forms.
I have an Ilo DVDRHD04 and it works very well. The R04 will do the same but has less editing features
