So, if I DO NOT have a Japanese PSP, there are currently no means of playing emulator/emulator games, on my NORTH AMERICAN PSP, correct; even if it is a NORTH AMERICAN PSP w/ 1.50 firmware?

No, any psp with firmwire 1.5 can play emus and other homebrews.
