Hi. I just installed Nero again a few days ago on a new system, so I'm using the latest version from the Nero site. I'm burning with an Optorite 16x Dual Layer DVD-RW (DD1603).
Nero goes through the burning process just fine, and tells me that "Burn process completed successfully" However, when I put the burned disc to any DVD-Rom drive to read it, the disc shows up as empty.
This has happened 3 times now with different variables.
First time was with a Taiyo Yuden 4x DVD-R, and before updating the firmware on my Optorite Drive. Burned at 2x Speed.
Second time was after Firmware update with 16x Memorex DVD-R, burned at 8x speed.
Third time was back with TY 4x, burned at 4x.
All discs completed successfully according to Nero, but windows won't read them. What could be wrong?

Well, heh. The only reason I bought Memorex was because Best Buy had a stack of 16x DVD-R 100 mismarked at $40. I had to snag em. I'm normally a Ritek Ridata fan when I buy online, unless TY is cheeper by more than a few bucks. I did burn one Memorex DVD on my other PC that is working and it played fine in my DVD player which is all I'm really worried about for now. Though I guess it's too soon to tell because I didn't watch the whole DVD I burned yet.
The nVidia drivers are giving me lots of trouble. I installed the latest Forceware drivers and my PC would crash after reboot upon loading the desktop, so I had to roll back to a restore point in safe mode. I tried with the nVidia IDE SW drivers and without. Both led to BSoD with physical memory dumpage and reboot forcing me to do a system restore.
I ordered the TY media from meritline. I wouldn't know how to tell if they were genuine, though they are working fine in my other PC where I eet almost 100% good burns with them.

'fraid those are the only things i could see in the logfile. I don't know much about the Nvidia drivers other than there can allegedly be conflicts with Nero or something like that.
re checking re the TY, ie ways to tell if they're genuine are to look for codes on the inner hub of the discs, these codes can be verified by searching thru afterdawn's media forum. I see meritline's name come up in posts v often but because i'm not from the US i don't pay too much attention to store/US website names..

Bump.
I'm thinking about Reformatting and trying again with a fresh install since it's a new computer and I really don't have anything to back up yet except a few save game files. But it's no guarantee this issue won't persist, so any solutions out there would be much appreciated :)
