Ok, I'm new and feel like an idiot for having to ask this, so please bear with me?

I have an integrated SoundMax Digital Audio System, with a cord out of the back of my computer that is split into one pink and one grey.
On the back of my computer, I have the standard pink, blue, and green inputs, as well as a yellow one on my video card.

I recently purchased a surround sound system:1 subwoofer, 1 center, 4 smaller speakers. With that system came all the cords, plus three split cords. These have green input jacks at one end, and one red one white at the other end.

My problem is that I'm getting confused over what goes where. This link, I think, should spell it all out for me, but I've tried and retried..still nothing.

Could someone help explain this? I just know I'm going to want to kick myself when I find out the answer! Thank you!
