Hello, i backup ps2 games frequently, when i built my new pc system, (keeping the same burner) and (the same media: ridata ritek) i have noticed that every single backup i have made has burned well but has a flashy screen sort of like lines going continually up and down the screen. This has been so for every single backup. Including god of war, tekken 5, and medal of honor: assualt. I have even tried to backup my backups, such as using the god of war backup to my hard drive and then using DVD Decrypter to burn it to disk. The original backup worked while the new backup had the same problem i can see the background but the lines and flashy screen is continual, i used to have no problem backing it up. My burner is Khypermedia and media is ridata ritek. I think it may be my burner. WHO KNOWES PLZ SOMEONE HELP OUT.!!!!!!!!!!!! PS. i burned at 1.3 and 2.4

sorry another thing to add, i have the flashy screen after loading swapmagic into the ps2 and playing the backup

very odd indeed
do you know of any programs that are running in
the backround, like antivirus, that were not on your
old system?
Also when you installed into the new system,
did you update your firmware for the burner or use
the disc it came with?
when i got a new hard drive i had to install the stock
firmware it came with, then update it via the net

i dont completly understand how to do these things or even check can you help me. and i dont even know if i use firmware or wat it is.

for firmware you can do 2 things.
1. use DVD Decrypter to check for updates
go to tools, then drive, then check for updates
it will search the net for your burner

2. you can search yourself. Just put in the name and model of
you burner and follow it with firmware
like mine would be Sony DRU-710A firmware

as far as program running in the backround, if they are you
would see the in the bottom right corner of you monitor screen
on the oposite site from the start button
they will be in the system tray, anything that is there
that you are not using should be closed by
right clicking on the icon and chooseing close or exit.
anything running can effect your burning as it uses memory
that the burner is trying to use.
