This might be a stupid question but am new to this. Am connected to an unknown wireless network. I just installed the free Limewire 4.9.11 but it can't connect. It keeps saying there is a firewall but i disabled the Windows and norton firewalls. Can a firewall set up by the network owner be the cause? Please someone help me.

yes - most likely

1. they can block specific ports used for piracy (general)

2. they can block any new, unrecognised programs from accessing the net

etc etc
