My setup is in my sig. I used Decrypter ISO read then ISO write and selected the MD5 file.
Backed up my copy of Sin City.12 seconds into the process there was a weird error message that I foolishly neglected to write down, I just hit cancel by reflex thinking that the burn process was screwed up and I just burnt a coaster. The process surprisingly continued after this and the burn was a success.
Tested it at the club I worked at and everything was stellar up to the layer break. There was a slight hesitation, then the second layer kicked in with occasional bursts of minor pixelation. At one time it froze for about 1.5 seconds then continued playing. The pixelation stopped after about 3 minutes, maybe 5 and the quality was stellar till the end.

I realize that this was just one burn and I shouldnt really judge until I see the same issue with other burns. I am hoping that maybe I needed to adjust a setting in Decrypter or use another engine/software to burn DL discs.

I would appreciate any recommendations or tips. I am hoping that it was just a one time glitch. DL discs are still fairly expensive and I want to do as much as I can to insure premium quality burns prior to using - and potentially screw up - another disc.

hello,

may i ask you what kind/brand of DL media you are using? i strongly suggest the Verbatim DLs as i have used decrypter iso read--->iso write just as you have and all my Verbatim DLs discs are flawless, even at the layer break~ :)

hehehe..it's very easy to overlook..well, do you use dvd decrypter's own burning engine to burn to the Verb DL or do you use Nero? if you use Nero, i Nero log would be helpful to troubleshoot this problem/issue you are having...

if that is the case, please post your Nero log up here MINUS your serial number, MAKE SURE you edit that out before posting on here...it usually starts w/ 1A32....

seems to me like you are just doing what i do...using decrypter iso read to iso write...i have not had problems...hmm...i am assuming your firmware is up to date on your nec 3500? just too lazy to check right now... :)

i guess my only question to you would be if you use Nero to burn or just simply use dvd decrypter's burn engine to do it...a Nero log is VERY helpful in this particular case... i don't know what else to suggest to you without some more info to go on...

I used Decrypter's own burning engine. I heard that Nero was flakey with the layer change so I opted out of Nero.
I will test the disc some more on as many players as I can come across - apologies if I jumped the gun in posting here. For what it's worth I did not encounter the issue on my computer's dvd player but I only checked the same scene where I noticed it.

Here is a funny for you. I also posted this question over at videohelp and I was accused of discussing Warez because Sin City is not to be officially released for another week. Here in NYC many local dvd stores release popular movies before the official date. But the guys over at videohelp are practically calling me a liar. Geez.

I have had a glitch in the dl disks on my older player but not on my newer ones. Make sure you set your burn speed in Decrypter to 2.4x.

Burn speed was t 2.4x - apologies for not including that info in the initial post. This was my first DL burn so I did not want to risk a 4x burn.
