PAL cassette, NTSC vcr & NTSC/PAL capture card

Hi all,

What I got:
-PAL VHS cassettes
-NTSC VCR
-NTSC/PAL/SECAM capable capture card(or so it says)
-Computer

I'd like to convert some VHSs to DVDs. The problem is that VHS tapes are PAL and i can't seem to be able to find a multisystem VCR anywhere. So i was wondering, will the following work:
put a PAL cassette in an NTSC VCR, press 'PLAY' and capture with Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Expert? This card is said to be NTSC/PAL able, so I was wondering if I can set it to capture PAL-signal from the VCR, the software on the computer would somehow capture the PAL movie from tape, despite the VCR being NTSC. Anyone ever tried???

One more thing, is Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP a good card for the job quality wise(for VHS capture only)?

Much obliged for any help, any ideas.

Nope ...Won"t Work...The NTSC VCR can Not read the PAL Tape, You need a PAL Capible VCR.....

Yes, you are right. I had the PAL VHS tape played on NTSC VCR and there was no visual, and only a high-pitched fast-audio, as 25fps PAL audio is forced to play at 29.xx fps NTSC.

Shame. Why can't we all just get along with one world-wide TV system?
