Hello peeps,
I've used NERO since it was still beta, it has from time to time messed up. Mostly when there has been a revision in the program, made by the developers, or by using a wrong SN#.
The wrong registration number trick is one that AHEAD Software implemented in the begginning, the result of using a blacklisted or incorrect # would not obviously cripple the software, but would cause random seemly unrelated errors. Before the buffer underrun protection, it was VERY easy to generate errors during the burn process, and this seemed to be built right into NERO. The software developers incorporated the error right into the design of the software.
I'm sure that this is not necessarily the case still, but it should be food for thought. I keep my version of NERO and DVDShrink updated and have NO problems burning anything-anytime!
If you have errors generated while burning, try re-registering with a different SN#, and make sure that your software is updated, and you are not doing anything else on your computer at the same time, as the encoding and burn process is very demanding on your computer!
